Epic Games made history this week by defying two of the world’s largest tech companies: Google and Apple. The Fortnite developer decided to do things its way in terms of payments. That decision resulted in some harsh punishments, including the Fortnite Android version removed from the Google Play Store.
Fortnite Android Version Removed From Google Play Store
The insane, still-developing story behind Epic Games and its stand against the fees that mobile companies Google and Apple charge began on Aug. 13, as the developer announced the Fortnite Mega Drop event.
Fortnite used to be a huge hit on both Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store. But after an update that allowed players to make in-app purchases directly from Epic, Apple and Google. Download the app and play GTA 5 on Android now. There aren’t many action-adventure games that bring organized crime to life as well as Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5). The game paints a picture of what we see in movies such as The Godfather, Heat and Scarface.
This event wasn’t like other limited time events for the battle royale game, as it was more focused on some permanent changes rather than only temporary ones. Epic Games made a massive change to how much V-Bucks cost in the game, reducing the price permanently for everyone.
On all platforms, including console, PC, Mac, and even mobile, players can now purchase V-Bucks at a reduced price of up to 20%. Not all regions support this change, but more are on the way that will benefit from this.
For example, instead of paying roughly $10 for 1000 V-Bucks, it will only cost around $8 plus any applicable tax for players to buy 1000 Fortnite currency to use in the game to purchase the battle pass, various skins, pickaxes, and other items.
This is a great sale that isn’t just for a short time, as it will remain this way forever as far as we know. But the problem is that the way Epic Games handled this situation on mobile wasn’t the cleanest possible way, and it has certainly made both Google and Apple unhappy.
The problem with the two mobile store providers is that they both charge 30% of any revenue that comes out of a mobile app on their respective stores, Google Play Store and the App Store. That is a hefty price and takes a significant chunk out of the developer’s pockets.
Epic Games is rewarding players who purchase directly from them, instead of through Google Play or the App Store, giving them the 20% discount. If you choose to purchase through Google or Apple, you will have to pay the original price for those V-Bucks.
Play Fortnite Now Android Pc![]()
The problem with this is that, according to Apple, it breaks the guidelines that Epic and every other mobile developer agrees to. Either Google or Apple didn’t approve this major shift, and it resulted in Fortnite being removed from the App Store.
It didn’t take long for Google to follow suit on the same day and remove the Fortnite Android version from the Google Play Store. That means that you will no longer find one of the biggest games in the world on one of the biggest mobile app stores in the world.
That said, not all of this is negative news for those players who like to play the Fortnite Android version of the game. Unlike the Apple version, numerous options are available to Android device users on phones and tablets that don’t take too much away from them.
If you are someone who likes to play the game on Android, you can keep playing the game just as you would like to through the app you already have through the Google Play Store for now. Also, it is possible for those who deleted the game to redownload it as well.
But both of these solutions are only temporary at this time. Epic Games is good about updating the game regularly. The next time a downloadable patch is available for the Fortnite Android version of the game, you will likely be unable to download it with the Google Play version and keep playing that way.
This means that it is inevitable that you will need to find an alternative way to play the Fortnite Android edition unless the game restores to the Google Play Store. If we’re 100% honest with you, we think that this is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
This is because Epic Games has gone to the court system regarding Apple and how it handles things. This potential lawsuit could eventually expand to Google as well, but we aren’t sure for now. But regardless, the changes probably won’t happen for a while.
Google is pretty set in its ways, so it would take some strong negotiations or the law to get involved for things to change enough for Epic Games to be allowed to have direct payments. One alternative is to play other battle royale games on your Android device through the Google Play Store.
There are a couple of really good battle royale games that you can play on Android like PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile. Epic games dow. Both have that standard last person or team standing gameplay, and the latter, in particular, is one of the best mobile games that you can find right now.
Free sims download for windows 10. Of course, they are a lot more serious and gritty than Fortnite is, so Minecraft is a cool game to play if you want something focused on the building aspect of Fortnite. But even still, none of them truly fill the gap on their own that is only filled by Epic’s Fortnite.
As such, fans who want to keep playing Fortnite will need to prepare for the worst-case scenario that it never does return and find other ways to play Fortnite on Android devices. Fortunately, there are several ways to do this.
How to Play the Fortnite Android Version: Epic Games App![]()
Before we dive deeper into these options, keep in mind that Android is a more open platform than Apple. You always need to make sure that you are only downloading from an official source. The first method is an official one that goes through Epic Games itself, though.
This one has you visit the Fortnite Android website and find the link to download the Epic Games Store app. This app is not available on the Google Play Store and never has been. You can download it officially, though, and it gives you access to Epic’s mobile store.
In it, you will find a way to download Fortnite on your Android device there and bypass the Google Play Store in the process. It is a great and simple one, but it does require a couple more hoops than it would be if you were just normally to download Fortnite through Google’s own store.
While it is an annoying process overall, it is well worth the effort as it allows you to keep playing battle royale indefinitely, which is already a step above the hoops that iOS users have to go through right now. But the Epic Games Store is far from the only store on Android to download Fortnite from.
There are other stores that you can go through on Android that happen to have Fortnite available. We won’t go into great detail about some of them and the APK files you could download because there are many apps and stores on Android that aren’t too trustworthy.
But there is one more store that is rather trustworthy. You will be able to keep downloading Fortnite there for the foreseeable future. That store is none other than the Samsung Galaxy store. However, this store is much more limited than the Epic Games Store that is available to everyone.
The issue with the Samsung Galaxy store is that, well, you kind of need a Samsung phone to be able to access it. Fortunately for those people who have a Samsung phone, it is likely that you already have the Samsung store pre-downloaded on your device from the moment that you get it.
In that case, it is really easy to pull it up, download Fortnite, and you’re good to go. Otherwise, you may have to download the store yourself, but at that point, you might as well go and download the Epic Games Store as mentioned in the previous point.
Fortnite Android Specs
When it comes to downloading Fortnite through either of the two methods above or one of the many other ones that we won’t go into, there is one thing that players should always keep in mind, and those are the specs that are required to run the game.
If you are new to the game and want to try it out, you want to make sure that your Android phone or tablet is capable of running it. For starters, you need to make sure that you have Android OS 8.0 or higher, which shouldn’t be too hard for new devices, and 3GB of free storage.
Fortnite on Android requires at least 4GB of RAM on your device, which is a lot compared to some older and lower-end products with less than that, and then a GPU that is Qualcomm Adreno 530 or higher, ARM Mali-G71 MP20, ARM Mali-G72 MP12 or higher.
The GPU part may be a little bit confusing or specific, so as long as you have at least 4GB of RAM, it is worth trying the game. You may be able to play it regardless, just with some graphics settings turned down a bit.
But if your Android device isn’t strong enough to play Fortnite, one more option is streaming apps. These apps can go through the official Google Play Store. You won’t have to worry about going through other stores or potentially unreliable places to get your Fortnite on.
There are various streaming services out there that allow a mobile user to stream PC games to their phone. There are a few on Android, actually some more than on iOS, including Nvidia GeForce Now. This app allows players to play some already owned PC games on the device like Fortnite.
We have heard that the game has been made unavailable in the Android version of GeForce Now in the past, so this one may not be super reliable. Other than that, there is the Rainway app on Android that lets you do the same function for free, and it includes Fortnite as well.
There are likely other streaming apps out there on Google Play Store, but the final one that we recommend is Shadow. This streaming service is not for everyone, as it isn’t exactly free. It costs a monthly subscription that isn’t exactly cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Shadow isn’t some service where you can play the games you own through a mobile interface, but the app gives you access to an entire Windows PC of your own on your mobile device. You can do and play everything on there that you would on a normal PC.
This means downloading Fortnite on PC and playing it through your phone with the okay touch controls or a controller. This is a great way to start playing the game again on Android and have the full PC experience that other Android users are unable to enjoy.
You will get to have the full graphics package and possibly a better performance at the same time. And the best part is that you can play with your mobile friends at the same time since Fortnite allows cross-play and cross-progression with all available platforms.

Otherwise, it’s a fairly standard battle royale experience. You find stuff, use that stuff to slay opponents, and try to be the last player standing. There are some lag issues from time to time and the free to play model is more aggressive than PUBG Mobile or Fortnite. Otherwise, this is a good one.

Call of Duty: Mobile had the largest mobile game release of all time. There’s a reason for it. The game is one of the most polished in the genre with a good amount of content. In addition, the game has a ton of weapons, customizations, and other characters to unlock and play with as you grind it out. It’s honestly right up there with PUBG Mobile and Fortnite as among the best battle royale games on mobile and unless the developers really mess up, it should stay that way for a while.
Creative Destruction

Creative Destruction is extremely similar to Fortnite. In fact, we consider it a clone. It’s a decent clone, though. The game includes a large map with varying landscapes and 100-person matches. You can craft and destroy stuff. Additionally, you can play in third or first person perspectives. We thought that was really fun. The game runs terribly on some midrange and low end phones. Additionally, it has the occasional bug. However, the experience was still quite good in our testing.

Our testing went surprisingly well. The graphics are decent and the game play is smooth. Loading is actually fairly quick. There honestly isn’t a lot wrong with this one. It is a freemium game, though, to the surprise of nobody.
Guns Royale
Price: Free to play
Guns Royale is a fairly standard battle royale title in terms of pure mechanics. You drop down in a massive free for all shootout with a bunch of players in a shrinking game zone. Price: Free to play (usually)
There are a ton of IO games out there with battle royale elements. Some notable examples include Axe.io, Agar.io, Slither.io, Arrow.io, and many, many others. The games usually put you in the middle of a massive battle of some sort with a bunch of random players worldwide. The mechanics differ by game. Axe.io has axes and Agar.io uses blobs. However, the core premise is the same for most of these games. There are a lot of people with you and you keep going until you or everyone else loses. They are usually freemium titles and they all seem to suffer from similar connectivity and lag issues. However, they are probably the simplest battle royale games available.

Pixel’s Unknown Battle Ground is a clone of PUBG, obviously. It uses pixel style graphics, but most of the mechanics and controls are the same as other shooter battle royale games. You drop in, find stuff, kill the other players, and survive the longest. This one also features an in-game chat, auto shooting, lower graphics settings for lower end phones, This one has some stability issues that we noticed during our testing. Frankly, if you’re going for something like this, you might as well go with PUBG Mobile itself. Still, it’s better than most of the other PUBG clones on Google Play.
Rules of Survival
Diablo 2 game download. Price: Free to play
Rules of Survival is another PUBG clone. It came out after PUBG Mobile was announced, but before the release date. You drop in from an airplane, find stuff, and kill people as per the norm. This one has some additional weapons, vehicles, and matches with 120 players. It’s a little less composed than most battle royale games, but that also adds an element of chaos for better or for worse. It has stability and lag issues like most other games. Some matches were more fun than others. This one hasn’t aged all that well in the face of more polished competition, but it’s still not bad as an alternative to those titles.
PUBG Mobile

It has less intense graphics, 50 players instead of 100, and a few other optimizations.
ZombsRoyale.io

ZombsRoyale.io is an arcade shooter with battle royale elements. You drop into a world with a bunch of players. The goal is to be the last person standing, obviously. It uses simple 2D graphics, simple controls, and simple mechanics. It doesn’t take long to learn. Additionally, there are team play modes, a metric ton of cosmetic stuff, leaderboards, weekly events, and more. This feels more like a mobile game than a console title ported to mobile. That’s perfectly okay, but it does come with a bunch of freemium elements. Plus, the stability is a little rocky on occasion. Otherwise, it’s a decent experience.
